An exciting opportunity awaits dedicated Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants ready to make a positive difference in the lives of elementary students. This contract position is ideal for professionals who thrive in school-based settings and have a passion for working with young learners aged 3 through 5th grade. Key Qualifications:

  • Active and valid Maryland OT or COTA license required
  • Experience or interest in working with students on the autism spectrum, those with communication challenges, and students with significant behavior needs
  • Comfortable managing a varied caseload across multiple school sites (specific sites discussed during interview)
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
  • Committed to ongoing professional development and teamwork

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver skilled occupational therapy services to elementary-age students in both direct and consultative formats
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and documentation as required by the district
  • Collaborate closely with special education staff, classroom teachers, administrators, and families
  • Support students’ access to academic life skills curricula
  • Develop individualized intervention plans and adapt approaches as needed
  • Benefit from a flexible scheduling model: set your own weekly schedule in coordination with building administrators (minimum of 21 hours direct service/week out of 35 hours total)
