An exciting contract opportunity is available for a licensed Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting students in a specialized educational environment. This position focuses on Extended School Year (ESY) services, with the potential to extend into the 26/27 academic year.
The role involves providing dedicated 1:1 therapy for an out-of-district male student who is receiving care at a residential hospital near Hampstead, NH. You will collaborate with hospital staff to develop an individualized approach, gradually building therapy time as the student becomes familiar with services. Sessions are scheduled for Mondays and Fridays, beginning at 8:15 AM and extending until between 2:30 and 3:00 PM, allowing for flexibility in coordination.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current and active Occupational Therapy license in New Hampshire
- Experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy
- Proven ability to adapt to new environments, particularly within hospital or clinical settings
- Flexibility for scheduling and readiness to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Empathetic approach and sensitivity to students who are new to therapeutic services
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 occupational therapy to a student at a residential hospital setting
- Collaborate effectively with hospital staff to deliver high-quality services
- Adjust therapy sessions based on the student’s progressing needs and comfort
- Document progress and adjust treatment plans, ensuring continuity of care
- Maintain compliance with all professional and legal standards required by the state
- Participate in ongoing professional development as needed
