As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll begin with a part-time schedule for a few hours per week, expanding to full time (up to 40 hours per week) as the number of students increases and the caseload grows. Work with a collaborative group committed to nurturing both individual and group progress. Each classroom includes 10 young children, each supported by a dedicated teacher’s assistant and a certified special education teacher, ensuring a robust learning environment.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current OT licensure for practice in New York
- Experience (or strong interest) in Early Intervention or school-based pediatric therapy
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving caseloads and schedules
- Commitment to evidence-based, child-centered practices
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver OT services to individuals and small groups within a classroom setting
- Collaborate closely with teachers, teaching assistants, and parents on student plans
- Contribute to IEP documentation and student progress reporting
- Support children ages birth-5 with a variety of developmental needs
- Foster an inclusive, positive and supportive classroom environment
