Step into an impactful role as a contract in-person occupational therapist supporting students near Joliet, IL. Your role will focus on evaluating and treating a diverse caseload of approximately 30 students to start the year—with potential for expansion as new students are evaluated into the program. Engage in hands-on therapy during regular school hours, supporting student development in an encouraging educational environment.
Qualifications:
- Current and active Illinois occupational therapy license required
- Experience or interest in school-based OT preferred
- Strength in teamwork, especially with early childhood diagnostic teams
- Skilled in both evaluation and ongoing intervention for school-aged children
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Flexibility and organizational strengths to manage changing caseloads
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person therapy and evaluations on a contract basis
- Work closely with early childhood diagnostic teams to assess students for services
- Develop and implement individualized OT interventions in accordance with IEPs
- Monitor student progress and collaborate with educators and families
- Maintain clear records and contribute to student success in a school setting
- Consistently provide compassionate, evidence-based support to each child on your caseload
Scheduling & Duration:
- Full-time hours: 37.5–40 hours per week, 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM
- Contract runs from ASAP through May 28th, 2027
- Daily, on-site presence aligns with the school calendar
