Step into an engaging contract opportunity serving students across several school settings near Kansas City, KS. This unique position offers Occupational Therapists the autonomy to craft their own schedules, visiting a range of elementary and specialized schools including Camber, Bridges Academy, New Chelsea Elementary, Emerson Elementary, and Welborn Elementary. With a manageable caseload of 50-60 students, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful impact while tailoring your daily visits—averaging 1-3 sites per day—according to your professional approach and students’ needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in Kansas (KS) required.
  • Experience providing OT services in school-based environments preferred.
  • Solid understanding of IEP process, documentation, and collaboration with educational teams.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for partnering with teachers, administrators, and families.
  • Ability to manage multiple locations and balance a diverse caseload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess student needs and develop individualized treatment plans to support educational and developmental goals.
  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions, monitor student progress, and adjust strategies as necessary.
  • Document assessments, sessions, and outcomes in compliance with district and state standards.
  • Collaborate with special education staff, classroom teachers, and caregivers to promote student engagement and success.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Provide consultative support for staff and families to maximize student participation within the school setting.
