Occupational Therapist School Setting in Kansas City, MO

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant supporting students across multiple school sites near Kansas City, MO. This assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and is anticipated to last at least one month, with the potential for an extension. You’ll be delivering crucial therapy services to a diverse student population, working collaboratively with school teams to foster success and student well-being.

In this role, you’ll work with approximately 48 students across five different buildings. Your weekly minutes with each group are already established for efficient scheduling:

• Building 1: 340 minutes/week, 13 students
• Building 2: 350 minutes/week, 13 students
• Building 3: 220 minutes/week, 10 students
• Building 4: 230 minutes/week, 9 students
• Building 5: 90 minutes/week, 3 students

What We’re Looking For:

• Current license as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Missouri
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred
• Strong organization skills to manage a rotating caseload
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi-site environment
• Commitment to supporting students’ educational access and participation
• For COTAs: open to necessary supervision procedures

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual and group therapy for students with a variety of needs
• Develop and implement treatment plans in coordination with teachers, parents, and support staff
• Maintain clear documentation and progress monitoring
• Travel between buildings as needed to provide consistent, quality services
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
