Step into a rewarding contract role providing occupational therapy services within a collaborative educational setting in the Houston area (Southwest side). This opportunity is exclusively full-time, offering you the chance to make a positive difference for students ages 3 to 21 across 6–7 campuses within a designated zone. The assignment runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, ensuring stable hours and dynamic daily experiences.
Leverage your expertise in school-based therapy by conducting evaluations, leading treatment sessions, and participating in ARD meetings. The caseload is thoughtfully managed—approximately 70 students—while direct services are reserved for 30–40 students, minimizing repetitive weekly contact and maximizing meaningful interventions. Consultative work makes up a significant portion, and the schedule rotates to best meet student needs. All documentation is streamlined via SHARES school health and Onward software, complemented by therapist-managed Excel logs for IEPs.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Current, active Texas OT license required
- Previous experience within a school environment strongly preferred
- Open to highly qualified COTAs with multiple years’ relevant school experience
- Comfortable with full-time (35 hours/week) onsite commitment across multiple assigned campuses
- Familiarity with IEP development, conducting evaluations, and attending ARD meetings
- Strong organizational skills for managing consultative and direct caseloads
- Previous utilization of school health/digital documentation platforms a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality occupational therapy treatment and evaluations
- Serve as the lead OT, managing all caseload responsibilities independently
- Collaborate with special education teams and participate in ARDs
- Maintain compliant and accurate documentation for each student
As part of this contract position, you will enjoy the benefits of stable scheduling, diverse caseload engagement, and the support of an interdisciplinary educational team.
