Make a meaningful impact supporting students across PreK to 8th grade in a dynamic educational environment near Kenner, LA. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working in schools and eager to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including a Physical Therapist, Adapted PE specialist, and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), who is present one day a week. The assignment spans the academic year, beginning in August and continuing through late May.
Preferred experience includes working in school-based settings, assessing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating effectively with educators, families, and other therapy professionals. Comfort with a diverse student population and adaptability to evolving needs will set you up for success.
Qualifications:
- Valid OT licensure for the state of Louisiana (required)
- Background in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop creative strategies to promote student engagement and independence
- Experience managing functional caseloads within PreK-8th grade is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ needs, set appropriate therapy goals, and document progress
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s abilities
- Collaborate closely with PT, APE, COTA, teachers, and families to optimize outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and timely documentation as required
