Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist, working with a vibrant K-12 student population in a supportive educational setting near Kenner, LA. As an engaged professional, you’ll provide itinerant OT services to a caseload of approximately 75-100 students across multiple grade levels, helping students achieve their fullest potential in academics and daily living skills. This is a full-time, onsite position following a standard school day schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with contract dates extending through the school year.
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Louisiana
- Previous experience in a school environment is highly preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt services for diverse student needs across all grade levels, K-12
- Collaborative spirit for working alongside educators, support staff, and families
- Dedication to fostering inclusion, access, and student growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in comprehensive OT assessments and implement individualized treatment plans
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to assigned students
- Maintain thorough documentation of interventions, progress, and outcomes
- Travel between school sites as needed to support student caseload
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Offer strategies and resources to classroom teachers and caregivers to promote student success
