Fine Motor Skills Gross Motor Skills Occupational Therapist School Setting - La Crosse, VA

A dynamic contract opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist seeking to make a difference in students’ lives for the remainder of this year and the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This position is geared toward supporting learners ages 3 to 18, focusing on enhancing their educational experience and helping them achieve greater independence. Candidates will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams while providing expert care and interventions both in-person and through teletherapy.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Occupational Therapy license, or eligibility, for practice in Virginia
• Experience or strong interest in working with children and adolescents (ages 3-18)
• Proficiency in addressing fine and gross motor skill challenges within a school environment
• Comfort with teletherapy platforms and digital documentation
• Previous school-based or pediatric OT work preferred
• Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
• COTA applicants are not being considered at this time

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized occupational therapy services to a diverse caseload, supporting students’ academic participation and functional independence
• Evaluate motor skills and develop evidence-based goals and intervention plans
• Consult and collaborate with teachers, families, and allied professionals
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with program, district, and federal guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights and progress updates
• Adjust strategies to suit in-person and virtual sessions for student needs
