Occupational Therapist School Setting - La Mesa, NM

Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students’ growth and development as an Occupational Therapy professional in southern New Mexico. This role spans a full school year and is ideal for those committed to service and collaboration, offering the chance to work with a diverse student population across multiple campuses. Practitioners based in the Las Cruces, Deming, Truth or Consequences areas—or even as far as El Paso, TX—are encouraged to bring their expertise to this rewarding setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Active NM state OT license (NMRLD)
• Current NMPED certification (can be quickly obtained if proactive)
• Experience in school-based occupational therapy strongly preferred
• Willingness and ability to supervise COTAs
• Open to both OTs and COTAs
• Strong organizational skills and flexibility to travel between school sites
• Commitment to supporting students of all ages and abilities

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services within a school setting, adapting care plans for students from early childhood through high school
• Supervise contributing COTAs to ensure high-quality care and compliance
• Assess, plan, and document treatment to help students achieve educational and developmental goals
• Employ effective communication with educators, parents, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide onsite services (teletherapy is not included)
• Travel between assigned schools to meet student needs efficiently
