Your skills in delivering individualized and group therapy services will play a significant part in fostering student growth and independence. Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to implement strategies that empower students to reach their academic and functional potential.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or the ability to obtain it promptly
- Previous experience working with school-aged children, particularly those in upper elementary, middle, and high school
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Skillful in adapting interventions to fit a variety of student needs
Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ functional abilities and develop tailored therapy plans
- Provide direct intervention to address fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skills
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, contribute to goal development, and document progress
- Consult with educators and families to support student success
- Offer training and resources to school staff regarding occupational therapy practices
- Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with school and state guidelines
