Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Washington State
- Previous experience working in school-based settings strongly preferred
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt and work collaboratively with various school team members
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students’ needs, providing direct occupational therapy services to support participation in school activities
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and adaptive skills
- Participate in IEP meetings, documenting progress and sharing recommendations with teachers and families
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster accessible, inclusive classroom environments
- Educate staff and caregivers on strategies to promote student independence and success
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
