Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license (OT) in Michigan or ability to obtain.
  • Experience delivering OT services in a school setting strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of IEP processes and experience with K-12 student populations.
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and other specialists.
  • Ability to independently manage a diverse caseload with excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ functional skills and develop individualized therapy plans to meet their educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to implement effective strategies and supports in the classroom and other school environments.
  • Document student progress, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Adapt materials and techniques to facilitate student access to the curriculum and school participation.
  • Offer consultation and training to school staff to support the integration of occupational therapy recommendations within daily activities.
