Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' growth and success as an Occupational Therapist in a vibrant educational community. This full-time position focuses on serving elementary-aged learners, ages 3 through 5th grade, and is available for the 2026-2027 school year (August 10, 2026 – June 8, 2027). With four onsite openings, you'll play a vital role in providing specialized therapy to students across multiple schools, with flexibility to discuss specific assignments during the interview process.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Maryland OT license required
- Previous pediatric or school-based OT experience strongly preferred
- Expertise in supporting students with high-level autism, communication needs, and behavioral challenges
- Ability to collaborate with fellow therapists, instructional teams, and student support staff
- Strong organizational skills to manage a dynamic and varied caseload
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to elementary-aged students as part of their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assess, plan, and implement interventions focusing on academic life skills, sensory integration, fine motor development, and social participation
- Work closely with educators and families to support communication and behavior needs; robust district resources and support available
- Utilize the district’s strong mentorship program for professional development and collaboration
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and ongoing case reviews
- Set your own weekly schedule (35 hours per week; 21 hours designated for direct services) with oversight from building administration
