Skills and Experience Desired:

  • Current and valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Texas
  • Experience providing OT services within a school setting strongly preferred
  • Comfort with elementary caseloads and adapting interventions for young learners
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, families, and other related service providers
  • Experience with documentation, goal-setting, and progress monitoring in line with school district and state requirements
  • Familiarity with educational eligibility criteria, IEP development, and compliance documentation
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks independently within a dynamic environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and create individualized intervention plans for elementary-aged students
  • Deliver direct and consultative OT services, supporting participation and success within the educational environment
  • Work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and parents to develop and implement IEP goals
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation, including IEP reports, progress notes, and billing
  • Advise staff on best practices for sensory, fine motor, and functional needs in the school context
  • Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary problem-solving teams to ensure student needs are met
