Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license and certification for practice in Texas
  • Previous experience with school-based occupational therapy strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working with elementary-aged students and tailoring interventions for their developmental stages
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills for teamwork with educators, families, and other specialists
  • Organized, reliable, and positive approach to addressing diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and create individualized therapy plans for students with occupational therapy needs
  • Deliver direct therapy sessions—both one-on-one and small group—focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and classroom participation
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student goals and facilitate smooth classroom integration
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, progress reports, and service delivery in compliance with school and state requirements
  • Attend IEP meetings and contribute professional insights for student success
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in school-based occupational therapy
