Desired Skills & Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for California
- Previous experience working in a school setting, preferably with K-12 students
- Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for teaming with educators, families, and students
- Strong organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Compassionate, student-centered approach and creative problem-solving abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs related to their educational performance
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in alignment with educational goals
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and other professionals to integrate OT strategies within the classroom
- Participate in IEP meetings, offering expertise and recommendations
- Maintain accurate records and document student progress
- Educate staff and families on therapy interventions and support techniques
