Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current and valid Occupational Therapist license for California
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy, particularly in elementary-aged populations (TK-5th)
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and specialists
- Organization and time management skills to effectively manage a part-time caseload
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students to determine eligibility for occupational therapy services
- Provide direct therapy to students, focusing on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation
- Develop, implement, and monitor individual treatment plans in accordance with IEPs
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, school psychologists, and family members for student support and progress updates
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, assessments, and student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing occupational therapy expertise to decision-making
