Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current and valid Occupational Therapist license for California
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy, particularly in elementary-aged populations (TK-5th)
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and specialists
  • Organization and time management skills to effectively manage a part-time caseload

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students to determine eligibility for occupational therapy services
  • Provide direct therapy to students, focusing on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individual treatment plans in accordance with IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, school psychologists, and family members for student support and progress updates
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, assessments, and student progress
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing occupational therapy expertise to decision-making
