Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide school-based occupational therapy services for students within Valencia High School and Ann Parish Elementary School during the 2026–2027 school year. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to support students in achieving their educational and functional goals.

School Sites
 High School – Serving students in grades 10–12
 Elementary School – Serving students in Pre-K through 6th grade
Student Population
High School: Grades 10–12
Elementary School: Pre-K through 6th Grade


Responsibilities

  • Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate therapy records.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Assist with screenings, data collection, and progress monitoring.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other school-based team meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license/certification.
  • Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students across a wide age range and varying abilities.
