As part of this role, you’ll work 3-4 days each week, focusing on an elementary caseload within a supportive school environment. You’ll collaborate with educators, families, and other specialists to promote student independence, participation, and success in the classroom.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for Massachusetts
- Graduate of an accredited OT program
- Previous experience or strong interest in working with school-aged children, especially at the elementary level
- Familiarity with IEPs, progress monitoring, and school-based therapy best practices
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and developing individualized treatment plans for students
- Implementing occupational therapy interventions to address fine motor skills, sensory needs, and daily living activities
- Documenting progress and maintaining accurate records
- Participating in IEP meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Providing resources and strategies for teachers and caregivers to support student success in and out of the classroom
