School Occupational Therapist | Manchester, Connecticut

Make a meaningful impact supporting students in specialized education settings! This contract-based opportunity is available for a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide dedicated service during the 2026-2027 school year, working with elementary students in an autism program. The position begins as soon as possible and extends through June 2027.

The schedule consists of part-time hours, Monday through Friday, totaling 22.5 hours per week. The primary responsibility is to deliver direct therapy within five elementary autism program classrooms distributed across three school buildings, serving approximately 50 students. One OT or two COTAs will be hired to ensure students receive the targeted support they need.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active and current OT or COTA license required
• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school environment
• Knowledge of evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, particularly with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate with educators, support staff, and families
• Strong organizational and time management abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct therapy to students in elementary autism program classrooms
• Assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans
• Document progress and maintain accurate records
• Consult with teachers and participate in IEP meetings as needed
• Contribute to the development of supportive classroom environments
