Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current New York State OT license
  • Prior experience in a school setting preferred, but open to therapists seeking to transition to educational environments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Understanding of IEP development and participation in meetings
  • Ability to create and adapt interventions to meet the needs of diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine students’ skills and challenges within the educational context
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and targeted interventions geared toward enhancing students’ participation in school-related activities
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and staff to implement strategies and accommodations that promote student success
  • Document progress meticulously and maintain compliance with federal, state, and district requirements
  • Support classroom engagement and participation for students with varying abilities
  • Contribute actively in team meetings and provide professional expertise for student support plans
