This full school year opportunity invites dedicated Occupational Therapists—or highly qualified COTAs—to deliver impactful services to students across a diverse spectrum of ages. You’ll play a vital part in fostering student success and development in multiple educational settings, traveling between schools and ensuring high-quality care throughout the district.

Essential qualifications:

  • Active New Mexico state OT license (NMRLD) required
  • NMPED certification through the NM Department of Education (can be obtained efficiently for prepared candidates)
  • Experience providing occupational therapy in a school setting or a strong interest in school-based practice
  • Willingness to supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs)
  • Ability to work onsite and travel between locations as needed
  • Flexibility to collaborate with staff and families to best support students’ needs

Primary responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive OT services to students with diverse needs, aligning with IEP goals
  • Supervise and mentor COTAs to ensure effective delivery of interventions
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized educational planning
  • Document progress and maintain accurate student records per district guidelines
  • Adapt to various school environments while managing a dynamic caseload
