Step into an engaging school-based setting as a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) or certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)! This opportunity offers the chance to work full-time, on-site, for the entire academic year in the southwest Houston area, serving students aged 3-21 across approximately 6-7 schools within a thoughtfully assigned zone. Your role will focus on supporting student success through comprehensive evaluations, participation in ARDs, direct therapy, and consultative services while helping students thrive in educational environments.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid and active Texas OT licensure required
  • OT or experienced COTA with extensive pediatric or school-based background
  • Prior use of school health documentation tools such as SHARES and Onward (preferred)
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel within an assigned local zone
  • Candidates must not be former employees of the district

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative OT services following IEPs for a diverse caseload (targeting 70 students; 30-40 direct services)
  • Conduct thorough student evaluations and contribute in ARD meetings
  • Maintain organized documentation utilizing SHARES, Onward, and Excel
  • Independently manage a caseload without COTA support
  • Establish positive relationships with school personnel, students, and families
