Make a meaningful impact supporting K-12 students with diverse needs as a contract occupational therapist in a dynamic school-based setting. Two full-time opportunities are available: one for the full school year, and one covering a maternity leave expected from August to March. Both positions offer the chance to work independently across multiple campuses, managing fluctuating caseloads and providing direct occupational therapy services to students with mild to severe disabilities.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California Occupational Therapy license is mandatory
- Experience delivering occupational therapy in California schools
- Proficiency administering the BOT-3 and Peabody assessments to students ages 3–22 with a range of abilities and multiple disabilities
- Strong data analysis skills to address parent concerns and support well-informed service recommendations
- Ability to manage itinerant schedules and adapt to changing district needs independently
- Comfortable working autonomously in the field without onsite supervision (no assistant support)
- Bilingual Spanish skills are welcomed but not required
- Previous experience with a fluctuating caseload and assessments for school-aged children preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct ongoing assessments, consultations, and direct therapy for a diverse student population
- Create, manage, and adjust your own schedule based on district needs across several sites
- Provide detailed documentation and reporting to support IEP recommendations and parent communications
- Utilize assessment data to support recommendations and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Address a broad range of mild to severe needs, ensuring equitable service for all assigned students
