Embark on an impactful contract role as a full-time Occupational Therapist serving K-12 students in a scenic area near Mount Lemmon, AZ. This position offers the chance to work in diverse educational environments across two locations, supporting a wide range of learners, including those in self-contained classrooms. Be a guiding resource, not just for students, but also by providing professional supervision to two dedicated COTAs.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with active state credentials (or eligibility)
- Previous experience in school-based settings strongly preferred
- Comfort and skill in supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Demonstrated ability or prior track record supervising or mentoring COTAs
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
- Capacity to travel between two school sites within the week
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective, evidence-based OT services to students with varying abilities
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with teaching staff, special education professionals, and families to ensure cohesive support
- Supervise and train two COTAs, ensuring quality and consistency of therapy services
- Contribute to IEP processes, by gathering data, documenting progress, and participating in meetings as needed
- Adapt strategies for both general education and self-contained classroom settings
- Maintain accurate therapy notes and compliance with district policies and regulatory standards
