In this essential role, you'll deliver occupational therapy interventions based on students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, helping children and young people boost their participation, develop functional skills, and reach their fullest potential. What you’ll need to succeed:
- Active and valid Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure for California
- Experience or interest in providing therapy services within a K-12 school setting
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for partnering with educators, families, and related service providers
- Adaptability to serve students across multiple sites as needed
- Solid organization and time management abilities
Your primary responsibilities:
- Assess students’ needs and develop individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to support students’ participation and skill development
- Document interventions, progress, and outcomes accurately and timely
- Collaborate with teaching staff, administrators, and other specialists to provide comprehensive support
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning for student success
- Offer training and resources to school staff and families as appropriate
