An exciting opportunity awaits for an Occupational Therapist eager to make a difference in the lives of students across a dynamic educational setting. This contract position supports both a Transition program for young adults (ages 18-21) and a K-12 Behavioral Academy. Both programs are housed in one building, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where therapy seamlessly integrates with education.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Occupational Therapist Registration (OTR) and state licensure
- Experience in school-based settings, home health, and/or teletherapy
- Background working with K-12 and young adult populations, preferably in behavioral or transition programs
- Ability to deliver both consultative and direct occupational therapy services
- Prior involvement with annual reviews, 3-year re-evaluations, and thorough documentation
- Skilled in both one-on-one and small group interventions
- Strong communicator and team player who thrives in multidisciplinary collaboration
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative OT services to students in both the Transition program and Behavioral Academy
- Conduct comprehensive 3-year re-evaluations and annual IEP reviews
- Develop and implement individualized and group therapy sessions to foster student engagement, independence, and success
- Work closely with teachers, counselors, and other specialists to create integrative strategies for student achievement
- Maintain clear records and timely reporting for all assigned students, ensuring compliance with school and district requirements
