Step into a dynamic school-based occupational therapy role supporting elementary and middle school students in both self-contained and resource settings. This full-time, onsite contract position runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with students beginning their school year on August 17. At 37.5 hours per week, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to student growth while benefiting from a culture of collaboration and professional support.

What We're Seeking:

  • Current licensure and credentials required to practice as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in Illinois
  • Experience with pediatric, elementary, and/or middle school populations preferred
  • Skills in assessment, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), and effective documentation
  • Strong interpersonal communication capabilities for partnering with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to adapt strategies for self-contained and resource classrooms

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver engaging, evidence-based OT services to students, promoting independence and participation in school activities
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and other OTs during monthly meetings and roundtable discussions
  • Participate in annual performance reviews and regular one-on-one meetings with leadership
  • Utilize readily available equipment and testing materials for evaluations and interventions
  • Take part in professional development opportunities and a thorough orientation, supported by the innovative “Buddy Program” for new hires
  • Access a social-intranet for seamless real-time collaboration with other professionals in the region
  • Actively contribute to ongoing improvement efforts for best practice and efficient processes
