Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students' educational journeys for the 26/27 school year. Based near Narragansett, RI, this opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about making a meaningful difference in young learners' lives. Scheduled from September 8th through June 18th, you’ll work two days per week, providing essential occupational therapy services primarily to PreK students, with some K-12 involvement as needed.

This role welcomes both experienced Occupational Therapists and seasoned Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) with a strong background in school-based settings. You'll bring your expertise to a supportive educational community, collaborating with staff and helping students achieve new milestones.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid OT license in RI (or eligibility to obtain)
  • School-based OT or COTA experience preferred
  • Comfort and experience working with PreK through high school, especially early childhood
  • Familiarity with Assistive Augmentative Communication (AAC) devices
  • Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy assessments and direct intervention services
  • Develop individualized goals aligned with IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to foster student progress
  • Document treatments and progress in compliance with district guidelines
  • Serve as a resource for AAC device implementation and sensory strategies
  • Adjust interventions based on student needs, particularly within special education populations
