Make a meaningful impact as a skilled Occupational Therapist supporting students from PreK through 8th grade in an engaging educational environment near New Orleans, LA. This contract position spans the academic year from August 10, 2026 to May 20, 2027, providing a dynamic setting to collaborate directly with a Physical Therapist, Adapted Physical Education (APE) professional, and a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who offers support one day per week. You’ll work within a supportive team and have opportunities to shape student progress and well-being each day.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy licensure
  • Prior school-based OT experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of PreK-8th grade developmental and educational needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physical and adapted physical education staff
  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills
  • Comfortable managing a diverse caseload independently and alongside COTA support

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to PreK-8th grade students
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans targeting students’ unique needs
  • Document student progress, maintain compliance with state and federal requirements, and contribute to IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with educators, paraprofessionals, and fellow therapists to maximize student outcomes
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the COTA one day per week
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and child-centered therapy space for students and staff
