As an Occupational Therapist working with grades K–5, 6–8, and 9–12, your role is impactful and valued daily. Situated close to New York, NY, you’ll collaborate with educators and families to foster independence, skill development, and overall growth for a diverse school-aged caseload.
This placement runs from ASAP through the end of the school year (June 2026), giving you the chance to make a meaningful difference throughout an academic cycle.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience with pediatric or school-based populations, especially students on the autism spectrum
- Ability to work effectively across kindergarten to high school age groups
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to individualized care and collaborative teamwork
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement interventions that promote success in academic, social, and daily living domains
- Conduct assessments and develop personalized treatment plans for students ages 5–21
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers and families, ensuring a holistic approach to student support
- Track and document progress, adjusting strategies to meet evolving needs
- Guide and educate staff and caregivers on best practices for supporting students with autism
