Qualifications
- Current certification in Occupational Therapy
- Experience working with students spanning Kindergarten through Grade 12
- Strong understanding of best practices for serving students on the autism spectrum
- Ability to develop individualized treatment plans and adapt to varied learning needs
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with both school teams and families
- Passion for fostering student growth and adapting to new challenges
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students with autism in elementary, middle, and high school
- Evaluate, assess, and document students’ abilities and progress
- Work closely with teachers and other school staff to integrate therapeutic strategies
- Create and adjust individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Share regular updates with caregivers to encourage ongoing progress
- Utilize creative approaches to support sensory, motor, and functional skills within the school environment
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere for all students
