Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid and current Occupational Therapist license for the state of Virginia
• Prior experience or strong interest in working with secondary (middle and high school) student populations
• Understanding of school-based OT assessment, intervention strategies, and compliance with IEP processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
• Ability to adapt therapy approaches to varied learning styles and functional needs
• Strong organizational skills and confidence managing multiple student cases

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services to students in secondary grade levels, supporting their access to the educational curriculum
• Evaluate students and develop individualized treatment plans in alignment with IEP objectives
• Collaborate regularly with educators, support staff, and parents to ensure integrated support for students
• Document progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
• Provide consultative services to classroom staff on strategies to promote functional independence
• Participate in ongoing professional development to remain abreast of best practices in school-based occupational therapy
