Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Active OT license valid in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
  • Comfort working with students on the autism spectrum
  • Solid understanding of IEP processes and documentation
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions tailored for students with autism, enhancing participation and independence in the learning environment
  • Evaluate student needs, develop treatment plans, and document progress according to school and regulatory guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, aides, and families to support students’ goals

  • Adapt materials and modify environments to optimize student engagement and safety
  • Maintain clear records and contribute to multidisciplinary teams focused on student growth
