Occupational Therapist School Setting - Norfolk, VA

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapy license for the state of Virginia (or eligibility for licensure)
• Previous school-based OT experience preferred
• Comfort and enthusiasm working with students on the autism spectrum
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for fostering student independence and achievement

Main Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students’ functional abilities and develop individualized therapy plans
• Provide direct occupational therapy services to elementary and/or secondary students as outlined in IEPs
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support each child’s unique needs
• Consult with teachers, support staff, and parents to implement effective strategies in and out of the classroom
• Document sessions, progress, and maintain up-to-date student records
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the goal-setting process
