In this contract position, you’ll play an essential role as a floating OT, primarily assisting K-5 students, including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and multiple disabilities. Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with valid credentials to practice in the state.
- Previous experience in school-based settings strongly preferred.
- Comfortable and confident working with students on the autism spectrum and those with multiple disabilities.
- Ability to adapt interventions to fit varying student needs and abilities.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with educators, support staff, and families.
- Flexibility to float between classrooms or student groups as needs arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to elementary-aged students in a school setting.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to integrate strategies and recommendations into daily routines.
- Support Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) through thorough documentation and progress monitoring.
- Provide direct intervention and consultative services for students with ASD and multiple disabilities.
- Assist in developing and implementing sensory, self-help, and fine motor interventions.
- Offer insight and support to help address caseload fluctuations and ensure continuity of care.
