As an integral part of the school-based therapy team, you’ll collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and families to deliver tailored occupational therapy services. Your expertise will help students overcome challenges, support their academic success, and maximize their participation in school activities.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR) recognized by the Texas Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners (ECPTOTE)
- Previous experience providing school-based occupational therapy services is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of IEP development, documentation, and compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, families, and school personnel
- Adaptable mindset to work across varying grade levels (K–12)
- Commitment to evidence-based and student-centered practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans to promote functional independence and academic participation
- Deliver therapy services according to service minutes and documented goals, serving a caseload of approximately 45–60 students
- Monitor and document student progress, revising interventions as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic educational outcomes
- Provide education and support to teachers and families to facilitate student success
- Ensure all services and paperwork meet district, state, and federal standards
