Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Current Occupational Therapist (OTR) license through the Texas Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners (ECPTOTE)
- Previous school-based OT experience preferred
- Strong understanding of IDEA, IEP development, and goal setting for students with diverse abilities
- Effective communication skills—to interact with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptability to serve varying caseloads and grade levels based on evolving needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and deliver direct therapy services for K-12 students as outlined in IEPs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student independence and success in classroom routines
- Develop individualized treatment plans and regularly monitor progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Document all services and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and offer training or resources to staff and families when appropriate
