Make an immediate impact in a school-based contract opportunity supporting elementary students 2 days per week. This role is ideal for a dedicated occupational therapist driven to help young learners build the skills they need for classroom success and daily living.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license to practice in California
- Knowledge and experience in school-based occupational therapy evaluation and treatment
- Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP process and ability to document services thoroughly
- Collaborative mindset to partner with special education professionals, teachers, and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as defined in IEPs, focusing on developmental and educational goals
- Evaluate students’ needs and write reports to inform eligibility, programming, and progress
- Develop treatment plans targeting fine motor, sensory processing, and self-regulation skills
- Consult with classroom teachers to modify the environment and support inclusion
- Attend IEP meetings and communicate student progress with families and team members
- Manage caseload effectively to ensure compliance and timely services
