Step into a dynamic school-based role where you’ll support elementary students’ growth and success as a school Occupational Therapist during the 26-27 academic year. In this contract position, you’ll work with a manageable caseload of approximately 35-45 students, providing vital therapy services that help children flourish in their educational environment.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license for the state (or eligibility for licensure before the school year starts)
  • Experience working in school settings, ideally with elementary-aged students
  • Strong understanding of pediatric developmental milestones, sensory integration, and fine motor skill development
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary educational teams
  • Exceptional communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Creative problem-solver, adaptable to varied student needs
  • Knowledge of IEP/504 processes and implementation is highly preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students to identify barriers to their participation and success in the classroom
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on each student’s unique needs and goals
  • Document assessments, progress, and interventions in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing input for goal setting and progress reports
  • Consult with educators and parents to ensure strategies and supports are effective in both classroom and home environments
  • Deliver therapy sessions individually or in small groups within school settings
  • Advocate for student access, involvement, and independence across all school activities
