Step into a dynamic and rewarding setting supporting students’ growth and independence over a focused, four-week summer program. This contract position offers the chance to make a real impact, working 20 hours per week from mid-June to mid-July. You’ll collaborate with educators and families in a school-based environment near Oakland, CA, using your expertise in occupational therapy to create engaging, individualized strategies that support students’ extended school year (ESY) needs.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Current Occupational Therapist license for California
  • Recent experience working in a school-based setting
  • Familiarity with IEPs, progress monitoring, and adapting interventions for diverse learners
  • Strong communication skills to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Commitment to respecting student confidentiality and supporting a positive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess students’ functional abilities relevant to school participation
  • Set and implement tailored occupational therapy interventions to support academic and functional goals
  • Document services, track student progress, and collaborate on IEP goals
  • Provide guidance, consultation, and resources to teachers and staff to support student integration and participation
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding progress and strategies for continued growth
  • Maintain accurate, timely records in accordance with school policies and standards
