In this school-based role, you’ll play an essential part in helping students reach their potential—particularly those who are medically fragile—while collaborating closely with teachers, families, and other professionals.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid, current Occupational Therapist license (California required)
- Minimum one year of prior school-based OT experience
- Comfort and skill working with medically fragile children
- Excellent communication abilities with staff, students, and families
- Dedication to fostering a supportive, collaborative school environment
What You’ll Do:
- Provide high-quality OT assessments and interventions for elementary students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, focusing on functional life skills
- Collaborate with general and special education teachers to integrate therapeutic supports
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multi-disciplinary planning
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of student progress and session notes
- Adapt therapy techniques and materials for students with significant medical needs
