Occupational Therapist School Setting in Overland Park, KS

Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a contract occupational therapist in a dynamic school environment near Overland Park, KS. This engaging opportunity allows you to work across several educational settings—including Camber, Bridges Academy, New Chelsea Elementary, Emerson Elementary, and Welborn Elementary—with a caseload of approximately 50-60 students.

Enjoy the autonomy and flexibility to make your own schedule, typically visiting one to three schools per day, while partnering with educators and staff to help children thrive in both academic and functional settings. The assignment runs through 5/21/2027, with placement available immediately.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Kansas OT license is required
• Experience working in pediatric, school-based, or educational settings is preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Compassionate approach with ability to build rapport with students, families, and school teams
• Ability to adapt to a varied caseload and work independently

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess and support students’ fine motor, sensory, and functional skills to facilitate participation in school activities
• Develop and implement IEP-driven interventions tailored to each student’s needs
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to maximize student outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation on student progress and treatment plans
• Travel between designated schools, managing your own calendar and priorities
