Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a dynamic school environment near Palatine, IL. This full-time position, slated for the 2026-2027 academic year, focuses on empowering students with diverse needs, enhancing their participation and success in the learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois OT or COTA license required (please provide documentation with your application)
- Experience, interest, or course work in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy is strongly desired
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to supporting a diverse K-12 student population
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy interventions to students according to IEP goals and district needs
- Conduct assessments to identify barriers to student participation and recommend accommodations or adaptive strategies
- Develop and document therapy plans tailored to each student's strengths and challenges
- Collaborate with educators and families to foster student independence and academic achievement
- Participate in IEP meetings, provide progress updates, and contribute to ongoing program improvement
- Attend mandatory new hire orientation August 12–14 before the school year begins
