School Occupational Therapist - Palatine, Illinois

This full-time contract opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule, working alongside dedicated educators in both general education co-taught and self-contained programs. Serving at district sites near Palatine, IL, as well as one off-campus placement, you’ll deliver targeted interventions that foster student growth and independence.

Key Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (master’s or doctorate required)
• Completion of required fieldwork and clinical OT training
• Successful completion of the NBCOT national certification exam with verification sent to the state of Illinois
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Illinois OT license, including continuing education requirements and applicable fees
• Active OT state license in hand
• School-based OT experience preferred
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and experience in educational settings appreciated

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services to 6th-8th grade students during school hours, Monday through Friday, for 36.25 hours weekly
• Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and families within general education co-taught and self-contained classrooms
• Travel as needed between district sites and a nearby off-campus location to support students
• Participate in student assessment, goal development, and documentation for IEPs
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive student support
