Seeking an experienced occupational therapist to provide essential services within a self-contained special education program supporting students aged 3 to 22. This is a full-time contract opportunity, with responsibilities spanning across a caseload of 18-25 students. The role involves working on-site and requires the ability to participate in an in-person interview.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid OT licensure and credentials for school-based services
- Experience in school settings, home health, healthcare, or teletherapy for pediatric and young adult populations
- Specialized knowledge working with special education programs and diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Flexibility to adapt strategies to varying ages and student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored occupational therapy interventions for students with varying abilities
- Collaborate with teachers, SPED program staff, and families to support academic and functional goals
- Provide therapy services individually or in small group settings within the school environment
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment as needed
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing program development
- Maintain detailed records and comply with all relevant school and district policies
