School Occupational Therapist - Paterson, New Jersey

Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a skilled Occupational Therapist in a school-based setting near Paterson, NJ. With two openings available, this opportunity allows you to collaborate with another dedicated OT, sharing a manageable caseload of 59 students that covers preschool through 8th grade. You’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference every day, fostering growth, independence, and confidence for students with diverse needs.

This position begins as soon as possible and is committed through June 2027, offering both stability and the chance to watch your students grow over multiple academic years. Each week is structured around a consistent schedule of 6.5-hour days, Monday through Friday.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapist state license
• Previous experience in school settings preferred
• Strong skills in assessing, planning, and implementing therapy for students aged pre-K through 8th grade
• Collaborative approach to working with staff, families, and other professionals
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Adaptable, compassionate, and dedicated to enriching student education

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students and develop individualized treatment plans in accordance with IEP goals
• Directly provide therapeutic interventions within various school environments
• Track and report on student progress
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families
• Support the development of fine motor, self-regulation, and functional skills relevant to school participation
• Complete all required documentation in a timely manner
