Step into a meaningful contract position where you’ll provide vital occupational therapy (OT) services in an early childhood setting. This role supports a birth-to-five program, including Head Start and Early Head Start, for the full school year near Pekin, IL. Designed for a motivated OT professional, this part-time role spans two days per week—with flexibility regarding which days you work.
Your impact will reach across three locations, all while benefiting from a designated home base. By collaborating closely with district teams on IEPs and working alongside home visitors, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the developmental, emotional, and practical needs of young children, as well as empowering parents to foster their child’s growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure in Illinois
- Previous experience in school-based, early childhood, or pediatric OT settings preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and collaborative service delivery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills—able to guide families and work within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to travel between multiple sites as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct OT services to children ages birth to five, including those enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start programs
- Collaborate on IEPs with district staff and multidisciplinary teams
- Support, guide, and equip parents with strategies to implement at home
- Serve as a resource for home visitors involved in ISSP/IEP service provision
- Rotate between three program sites while maintaining a home base for planning and support
