Exciting contract opportunities are available for Occupational Therapists with experience in school settings near Pelham, AL. These assignments begin as soon as possible and continue through June 10, providing essential services across four schools. You’ll support a caseload of approximately 50-60 students, facilitating growth and independence through direct interventions tailored to a range of student needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and current Occupational Therapist license/certification valid in Alabama (documentation required)
- Experience working as an OT in a school environment highly preferred
- Comfortable delivering services via individual, small group, and push-in models
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and tailoring service frequency according to student plans
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Dedication to supporting students’ functional and academic success
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs
- Organize and conduct 30-minute sessions, following prescribed service frequencies (weekly, twice monthly, or monthly)
- Serve 50-60 students across four schools, traveling between locations as scheduled
- Employ a range of service delivery options, including one-on-one, small group, and push-in formats
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation and communicate progress with stakeholders
- Collaborate with educators, families, and allied professionals to maximize student outcomes
