Step into a vital part-time opportunity supporting young learners and families in a collaborative early childhood setting. This contract role offers the chance to apply your occupational therapy expertise over two flexible days per week throughout the full school year, making a significant impact within a nurturing birth-to-five program that includes Head Start and Early Head Start. While you'll travel to three engaging sites, a designated home base will help anchor your days and foster meaningful relationships with colleagues.
Key Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist
- Prior experience in school-based, early intervention, or pediatric settings
- Strong understanding of IEP/ISSP processes and collaborative service delivery
- Effective communicator, especially when working alongside families and multidisciplinary teams
- Comfortable supporting home visitors and adjusting approaches to diverse program environments
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Delivering direct and consultative OT services for children ages birth to five, focusing on developmental, sensory, and functional skill-building
- Engaging collaboratively with district IEP teams and Head Start staff to ensure quality, individualized care
- Providing guidance and resources to parents, enabling them to best support their children’s growth and participation at home
- Traveling between multiple program sites as scheduled, and assisting home visitors when OT intervention is included in a plan
- Maintaining documentation, participating in team meetings, and advocating for student-centered supports
