Occupational Therapist School Setting - Perth Amboy, NJ

Step into a rewarding role supporting elementary students as a school-based Occupational Therapist for grades K-5. This contract position, beginning ASAP and extending through June, offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working full-time in a dynamic educational environment near Perth Amboy, NJ.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapist license for the state
• Experience providing OT services in school settings, preferably with elementary-aged children (K-5)
• Strong understanding of IEPs and ability to participate in meetings and implement therapy as outlined
• Familiarity with both individual and group therapy approaches in an educational context
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to facilitate student success
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Up-to-date knowledge of OT best practices in school-based environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for student occupational needs
• Deliver direct OT services to designated elementary students in accordance with IEP goals
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support students’ participation and progress in the classroom
• Document therapy sessions, maintain required records, and contribute to progress reports
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and offer strategies to promote student independence and engagement
• Provide consultation and training to school staff on supporting students’ functional skills
